Archbishop Leo HomilyOn June 21, 2023, Archbishop Leo presided at Mass in honour of National Indigenous Peoples Day. The celebration took place at St. Ann’s Parish, home for many years to the Native People’s Mission in the Archdiocese of Toronto. This ministry was established in 1972.

Parishioners along with Indigenous community members and guests from throughout the Archdiocese of Toronto and beyond came together for the special celebration. Archbishop Leo spoke of the many gifts and contributions Indigenous people and Indigenous spirituality offer to strengthen the church in Canada. His Grace also spoke of the ongoing journey of healing and reconciliation as we continue “walking together”, building on the theme of the Papal Visit to Canada in 2022.

Following Mass, Archbishop Leo was able to connect with those present in a wonderful spirit of fellowship and mutual respect.
